The background
Three began UK service in 2003 with a focus on 3G. Its UK business merged with Vodafone UK in May 2025; a combined company does not make every customer plan identical.
Explore Three by service
The dedicated Three notes below separate physical SIMs, handset arrangements, eSIM, home broadband, PAYG, monthly accounts, coverage and moving a number. They explain what to check without arranging any service.
How the service reaches you
Three mobile service; part of VodafoneThree. A host network supplies radio connectivity; the brand determines the customer agreement. Coverage maps estimate conditions, while building materials, congestion and device capability affect the connection you actually experience.
Read the arrangement
SIM-only and phone arrangements, Pay Monthly, Pay As You Go and mobile home broadband sit in different service categories. A router connection is not the same product as a phone SIM.
SIM and eSIM
Three supports physical SIM and eSIM. Its official support covers replacement eSIMs for both monthly and PAYG customers. Check the specific handset, account and activation instructions before replacing anything.
The account companion
My3 and the Three app is the place to review usage and account settings. Install the genuine app from the provider’s linked store listing. We never need your password, verification code or payment details to explain a general question.
Travel checks
Go Roam entitlements depend on your plan and destination. Read the country entry and your account terms before travel, including fair-use limits and any daily activation rules.
Bills, renewals and changes
Place your contract summary next to your latest statement. Identify airtime, any handset repayment, extra usage and subscriptions. Ask the provider to explain anything unfamiliar before changing payment arrangements. Read the date and amount of any scheduled annual adjustment in your own contract.
Coverage and common interruptions
First establish whether calls, texts or data are affected. Compare indoors and outdoors, check the official service status, restart the phone and inspect the selected SIM for mobile data. Persistent trouble needs the provider’s technical support; we cannot access or repair the network.
Switching, stopping or upgrading
Keeping a number, replacing a SIM and ending a contract are different actions. Request account-specific early termination and device-balance information before deciding. Use a PAC to move a number; do not cancel the old line first without discussing the sequence with the receiving provider.
Questions worth taking to the provider
Which agreement am I reading? What remains payable if I leave? Is my handset supported for voice over 4G and Wi-Fi calling? Does this exact plan support my destination and SIM format? What changes after the minimum term? Record the answers and the date for future reference.
